The russians hit the Olympic sports complex in Kreminna in the Luhansk region. An area of 2,400 square meters was on fire. At least 15 residential buildings caught fire in the region.
The Head of the Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Haidai, has announced this news.
He noted that Kreminna’s artillery shelling continued during the day on April 17 and became more frequent and powerful at night. Seven houses, auxiliary buildings, and forest litter went on fire.
“A few hours ago, russian shells hit local sports infrastructure, including the recently rebuilt Olympic sports complex, where the Olympic team of Ukraine usually trained. According to preliminary estimates, the fire area is 2,400 square meters. Rescuers are on the spot and try to localize the flames [urgently] because the forest is nearby,” Serhiy Haidai said.
Residents of Rubizhne also suffered from the enemy’s actions - seven locals were evacuated from the rubble of three houses, and two injured were taken to a hospital in Sievierodonetsk.
Earlier, Haidai once again called on the residents of the Luhansk region to “use the time to escape.”
