German Chancellor Olaf Scholz urged putin to immediately stop shelling and withdraw troops from the territory of Ukraine.
He made a statement after a video conference with heads of state and governments of international partners, as well as the heads of NATO and the EU, ARD reports.
"We feel endless sadness for the victims and - it must also be said - great anger at the russian president and this senseless war," - he said, calling on putin to "serious negotiations" and end combat actions.
At the same time, Olaf Scholz said that "peace dictated by putin is unacceptable."
Earlier, the German government plans to increase the budget of military assistance for 2022 to two billion euros, and these funds "will largely benefit Ukraine."
