Canada is imposing additional sanctions against russian officials and oligarchs as well as their family members. It is published on the website of the Canadian government.
“The Honorable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today announced Canada is imposing new sanctions under the Special Economic Measures Act to respond to unlawful and unjustified russia’s invasion of Ukraine, - the statement says. – The restrictions will be imposed on 14 close associates of the russian regime, including russian oligarchs and their families. In particular, restrictions are placed on two putin’s adult daughters”.
In addition to that, the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak says that Canada will provide Ukraine with more artillery weapons.
“USA, Canada, and Great Britain promised more artillery weapons for us. It is good, thank you,” Yermak wrote.
World leaders discussed counteraction to russian aggression and future sanctions. Leaders of the United States, the European Union, Canada, and Japan have also discussed their “respective diplomatic obligations” and efforts to implement “serious economic sanctions”.
