Two Feldman Ecopark zoo employees who went missing at the beginning of March were found dead. Russian troops had shot them dead.
The eco park's Facebook page reported that.
"We had searched for them for a long time, hoping to the last that the irreparable hadn't happened and they managed to survive, to make it out … But yesterday we received the confirmation that their bodies had been recovered. Enemies shot our guys and barricaded the bodies in a utility room," the statement reads.
Two employees stayed behind to take care of animals and feed them even under the russians' shelling.
"Bright memory to those beautiful brave people and sincere condolences to their relatives and loved ones. We believe that the monsters that committed this will definitely be punished!" – the eco park reported.
"Feldman Ecopark" near Kharkiv ceased its existence because of constant shelling and bombardments of russians. The zoo had repeatedly been targeted by shelling that killed three employees and some of the animals.
"Feldman Ecopark'' reported on 5 April that as a result of mass shelling and bombardments a lot of aviaries were destroyed so the employees didn't rule out the possibility of putting down big predators (lions, tigers, and bears). In the evening of the same day [the zoo founder – tr.], Oleksandr Feldman reported that a lot of people from Kharkiv, other Ukrainian cities, and from abroad had offered their help and the transportation of the big animals from the zoo had started.
The collection of Feldman Ecopark amounted to more than 300 kinds of animals.
Russian troops stole the vegetables meant for the animals from the eco park.
Feldman Ecopark is a charity project known not only in Ukraine. It combined helping animals, therapy for children with special needs, rehabilitation, scientific research, and educational bases with the option of leisure for nature lovers.
