Romania is preparing to transfer Soviet-style weapons to Ukraine from the reserves of the national defense system, for which it is making changes in legislation. This was reported by the League with reference to the local newspaper Romania Liberta and an emergency decree of the Romanian Ministry of Defense.
As publication notes, the decree will amend the 1998 governmental order, which in particular regulates, the supply of weapons for national defense abroad.
Following the approval of the decree, Romania will be able to supply arms to NATO allies and partner countries. Ukraine is a NATO partner country.
"Most likely, Ukraine will be offered weapons made in the former Soviet Union, which the Ukrainian military is well able to use," - suggested in Romania Liberta.
To remind, earlier Ukraine asked Moldova to sell to it six MiG-29 planes, which remained in it since the Soviet times and which the country already repeatedly put on sale. Moldovan Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilica has said that her country will not provide military assistance to Ukraine , saying that there are "countries better equipped " for this.
