World leaders discussed counteraction to russian aggression and future sanctions

The leaders from the USA, EU, Canada, and Japan have also discussed their “respective diplomatic obligations” and efforts to implement “serious economic sanctions”.

US President Joe Biden and other world leaders “confirmed” their resolve to provide Ukraine with security, economic, and humanitarian aid. 

It was announced by the White House press secretary Jen Psaki based on the results of the video conference of the leaders from the US, EU, Canada, and Japan. 

The leaders of the countries have also discussed their “respective diplomatic obligations” and efforts to implement “serious economic sanctions”.

The Office of the Prime Minister of Italy Mario Draghi also stressed the efforts aimed at diversification of energy products supply and refusing the purchase of russian oil and gas.

The participants of the conversation included President of the United States Joseph Biden, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson, Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau, President of the European Committee Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Council Charles Michel, President of France Emmanuel Macron, Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz, Prime Minister of Italy Mario Draghi, Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida, President of Poland Andrzej Duda, President of Romania Klaus Iohannis, and NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg.

Summarizing the results of the meeting, President of Poland Andrzej Duda stated that Ukraine has to receive maximum support not to allow russia to win the war. 

In his turn, the Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz called on putin to immediately stop shelling and withdraw the troops from the territory.
