First confirmed reports are received from blockaded Mariupol about the forceful mobilization of local men to the so-called "dpr army" for sending them to the war against Ukraine.
The Mariupol mayor's adviser Petro Andriushchenko posted about that in his Telegram.
"Filtration. There are reports on the intensifying of the mass filtration of the men in the private houses neighborhoods in the Kalmius and Livoberezhnyy districts. We receive the first confirmed reports of the forceful mobilization to the "DPR army". It's mostly about young men under 40. They are sent to the Donetsk direction. We're currently clarifying the information regarding their number and further fate," – Andriushchenko wrote.
Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk has reported that the occupiers on 23 April are trying to organize their own corridor to evacuate people from Mariupol to Russia.
Also, the Ukrainian military showed the civilians sheltering in the "Azovstal" basements.
As the U.S. Ambassador to the OSCE Michael Carpenter stated, russian forces might have used tear gas mixed with chemicals during the assault on Mariupol.
