At least seven Orthodox churches were destroyed by the russians during the full-scale war against Ukraine. The Islamic Cultural Center "Bismelle" in Sievierodonetsk and the EHB prayer room in Metelkino were also destroyed.

The Head of the Luhansk Regional State Administration Serhiy Haidai reported this, Interfax-Ukraine says.

In particular, the building of St. Catherine's Church in Shchastia, which is a cultural heritage site, was partially destroyed. Artillery shells damaged St. Mitrophan's Church in Lysychansk and the Church in honor of Motrona of Moscow in Rubizhne. The church of St. Michael's Parish in Popasna was damaged. The new building of St. George's Church was damaged in Rubizhne. The windows of the Holy Trinity Church in Troitske were broken.

""Russian world" is destroying everything in its path. It does not need people, houses, businesses or cultural monuments. The russians are erasing everything they meet from the land of Luhansk. Even what they believe in - Orthodox churches ", - Haidai emphasized.

During the shelling, the russians destroyed the monument to one of the founders of Mariupol, Metropolitan Ignatius. It was situated near the church in the Left Bank district.

As of March, russian troops were destroying an average of two religious buildings in Ukraine each day of the war. During the month of the full-scale invasion, at least 59 buildings of spiritual significance were damaged in eight regions.
