The Head of the President’s Office of Ukraine Andriy Ermak said that russians failed to gain full control over Mariupol. He told this on the air on French tv channel TF1.

"Today Mariupol is the most tragic and intense place on the Ukrainian territory. Heavy fights are still going there. When you hear the information that russians established control over the city… No, this is a lie. Yes, they are present on the territory of the city, but the area where Ukrainian heroes are located remains under the control of our soldiers. They hold there together with civilians. Even children are there”, - said Ermak.

He also said that the Ukrainian authority kept fighting and was doing everything to save people’s lives.

According to him, the military command of the country has a constant connection with soldiers in Mariupol and receives situation reports from the first hands.

“The fight for Mariupol is not over yet. This is a Ukrainian city. It will remain Ukrainian forever”, - said the Head of the President’s office.

According to the advisor of the President’s Office Mykhailo Podolyak, russia continues to assault the “Azovsteel” plant in Mariupol on Easter Day. Russians gather forces, military vehicles and equipment to assault. Russia refused to establish a truce for Easter Day. They are blocking the exit of civilians from the city, despite the agreed “green corridors”. Moreover, they have restricted the way to the Ukrainian territory and allowed to evacuate only to russia.
