British defence minister James Heappey said in parliament on Tuesday that Britain would be able to send anti-ship missiles Brimstone to Ukraine "in the next few weeks", reports the BBC.
"Last week, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the UK was looking at ways to supply anti-ship missiles to Ukraine, including mounting its Brimstone missiles to vehicles. Now, defence minister James Heappey has told MPs that the work to adapt the missiles has progressed quickly enough that it can provide them "in the next few weeks," the BBC said.
Brimstone missiles are designed for use against fast-moving land and sea targets and are typically fired from aircraft. The first model of the missiles has a range of up to 20 km; the second modification - up to 60 km.
Earlier, British troops used Brimstone in Libya and Syria.
