Today the United States will vote for Ukraine Democracy Defense Lend-Lease Act. The document provides for the simplified provision of weapons.

This was announced by the head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak in the Telegram with reference to the US House of Representatives Committee on Rules.

"If the Lend-Lease Act is passed, it will make it possible to significantly speed up the supply of arms, transport, food, and other assistance for rent or free of charge from the United States to Ukraine", he said.

Yermak, citing CNN, added that the US Department of Defense has already established a control center to coordinate the supply and optimize the delivery of military aid to Ukraine in Germany, in the area of responsibility of the US European Command.

"After yesterday's meeting of defense ministers of 40 countries in Rammstein, Ukraine received a lot of positive news. We are grateful to our allies for their support. Together we will defeat russia", Yermak said.

Voting is scheduled to begin at about 9 p.m. Kyiv time.

The Lend-Lease Act for Ukraine was approved by the US Senate on 7 April. Now it must pass the hearing in the House of Representatives and, in the event of a positive decision, signed by President Joe Biden.

Ukraine Democracy Defense Lend-Lease Act of 2022 will accelerate the transfer of critical military weapons and other vital materials to Ukraine without bureaucracy. De facto, it allows renting equipment.

Lend-Lease is a system adopted in 1941 by which the United States transferred key ammunition, equipment, food, and petroleum products to its allies during the war. It provided for the transfer for the free use of the necessary military property, which after the war, if necessary, returned to the United States. If the property was destroyed, it was not paid for.
