Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has received numerous remarks about his uncertain stance on russia's military aggression against Ukraine, will travel to Europe on Sunday.

The newly appointed Foreign Minister of this country Vinay Kvatra told journalists about this on Sunday, “European Truth” reports.

Although the trip is officially dedicated to the development of bilateral ties, Bloomberg reports that Modi will "bring the vision of India to Germany and France", as well as to Denmark. The Indian edition of DNA also writes that the Prime Minister "exchanges views" on the russian-Ukrainian war.

India is known for not officially condemning russia for invading Ukraine, but it calls on "both sides" to engage in dialogue. The authoritative publication Foreign Policy writes that Delhi deliberately made this choice and adheres to it despite Western pressure. There are direct calls in the Indian expert community for Ukraine to give in to russia.

Earlier the President of the USA Joe Biden had a conversation with Modi. In particular, Modi told Biden that he offered to hold direct negotiations between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and russian President Vladimir Putin.

Biden also tried to persuade Modi to join economic restrictions against russia in response to the war in Ukraine. The United States also does not want India to increase imports of russian energy resources. Russia is offering India significant discounts after the imposition of Western sanctions.

India was one of 58 countries abstaining from voting in the UN Human Rights Council on April 7, when russia was expelled from the organization.
