Roscosmos, the russian space agency, approved the date of the end of russia’s work at the International Space Station, the Economic Pravda internet newspaper writes with reference to the russian mass media.

Roscosmos sent its propositions to the government and the president, and the decision has been taken already.

“We are not authorized to discuss it publicly,” said Dmitriy Rogozin, the general director of Roscosmos.

He added that russia would inform its partners about the end of work on the ISS with a year's notice in accordance with its obligations.

Earlier the corporation informed about the decision to halt its cooperation, in particular on the International Space Station, with NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) because of the sanctions.

“It is important that at the beginning of March, the ESA informed us that in the context of the sanctions against russia, the program of the International Space Station continues to work on a pro forma basis only. The main aim is to continue its work while providing the crew’s safety,” informs the statement.

Earlier the ESA announced the halt of the cooperation with the russian state corporation Roskosmos in the joint russian and European project ExoMars, dealing with studying Mars.
