Mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko signaled that more advanced air defense systems will soon be placed in the capital.
Klitschko said this in an interview with "Radio NV".
"Unfortunately, so far we are all concerned about constant alarm messages about threats from the air — rocket attacks. I ask everyone to comply with the requirements, go down to bomb shelters, and do not neglect these rules. We hope that in the coming days there will be additional air defense of the Western, NATO standard, which will provide protection of our air," the mayor said.
Klitschko stressed that the motivation and plans of the military leadership of Kyiv will not let the russian invaders to carry out a second offensive successfully.
Klitschko also noted that although the threat of shelling and provocations in Kyiv remains high, however, after 9 May, residents who left, may slowly return.
On 8 and 9 May, any mass events were banned on the territory of Kyiv. Besides, the military and law enforcement forces will provide increased patrolling of the city.
