During the siege of Mariupol, the russian army killed 25 thousand people in the city. This was stated by Ilya Samoilenko, an officer of the Intelligence Directorate and a fighter of the Azov regiment, during a press conference.
“The occupation of Mariupol has been going on for almost 2.5 months... politicians are now noting the evacuation of several dozen, several hundred people. At the same time, 25,000 people have been killed by the russian army,” the officer said.
He stressed that the current situation in Mariupol is unique in military history.
“Such a siege, such an occupation has taken place for so long, and with so many casualties both among the enemy's military, (...) and significant civilian casualties,” the intelligence officer specified.
He also stated that he is aware of the mass graves of murdered residents, and huge mass graves of more than 10,000 civilians, as confirmed by satellite images.
It was previously reported that at least 20,000 residents of Mariupol were killed.
