Evacuation convoy that left Melitopol for Zaporizhzhia via Orekhiv yesterday came under fire.

This was reported by the Mayor of Melitopol Ivan Fedorov on the “Priamyi” channel, reports Ukrinform.

“Those who drove through Orekhiv yesterday spent 12 hours on the road and came under fire, and those who drove through Vasylivka - they have been standing at a Nazi checkpoint for three days now and rushists not allow them through in the direction of Zaporizhzhia. There are children, women and elderly people in this convoy,” Fedorov said.

According to the mayor, today more than 60 percent of Melitopol residents have left the city. We are talking about 60-70 thousand people.

“Today there is a high demand to evacuate and leave the city, but it is, unfortunately, almost impossible. Russians don't agree with us the centralized evacuation for almost a month now,” Ivan Fedorov stressed.

Earlier, it was reported that russian invaders were not letting men out of the city and were kidnapping people. Today about 300-400 cases of kidnapping in Melitopol are known.
