Kherson has a pre-trial detention center and three prisons with more than 2,000 prisoners and 700 employees who still have food and water. The invaders want to give prisoners weapons and force them to fight against the UAF.

This was announced on Facebook by Ombudsman Lyudmyla Denisova.

According to her, the russians want to hold a forced mobilization in the temporarily occupied Kherson to send Ukrainians to the front, so there are enough people on the streets.

"They want to put them ahead like cannon fodder. And imagine what this will mean for the Ukrainian army, which cannot shoot at its people, who are being forced to go against them," the ombudsman said.

Lyudmyla Denisova added that the occupiers are creating torture chambers in Kherson.

"They have now arrested the former mayor. They are trying to force him to cooperate. He is holding on very bravely. But no one knows how long he will bear it," she said.

The Security Service of Ukraine detained the former director of "Khersonkomuntransservis" Pavel Tkachenko. He is accused of treason.
