As of the evening of 8 May, the enemy does not stop offensive operations in the Eastern operational zone in order to establish full control over the territory of the Donetsk, Luhansk, and Kherson regions and maintain a land corridor between these territories and the occupied Crimea. This is reported by the General Staff.
"The enemy focused its main efforts on destroying the airfield infrastructure in order to prevent our aviation operations, including Bayraktar UAVs, and air units support in the area of responsibility of the Joint Forces Group and in the Black Sea operational zone. The enemy has increased the intensity of the use of operational and tactical air forces over the waters of the north-western part of the Black Sea," the General Staff notes.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the enemy did not conduct any active actions. Until 27 May of this year, training camps of Territorial Defense Units are being held on the territory of the Minsk district with the involvement of the military who are in reserve.
There is still a possibility of missile and bomb attacks by units of the Armed Forces of the russian federation on infrastructure facilities in Ukraine from the territory and airspace of the republic of belarus.
According to the General Staff, the enemy did not conduct any active actions in the Siverskiy direction. Reinforced border guard units, as well as units of the Armed Forces of the russian federation, continue to be held at checkpoints and in the border areas of the Bryansk and Kursk regions.
In the future, the fire damage can possibly be carried out to the units of our troops and infrastructure facilities in the border areas.
"In the Slobozhanshchyna direction, the enemy is concentrating reserves on the territory of the Belgorod region to conduct combat operations near the state border of Ukraine. The deployment of separate units from the 1st Tank Army of the Western Military District in these areas has been confirmed," the report says.
In the Kharkiv direction, the invaders did not conduct any active offensive operations. The main efforts were focused on preventing the advance of our troops. The group was strengthened by moving units from the Western Military District from the area of restoring combat capability. The enemy continues to carry out attacks on military and civilian infrastructure.
In the Izyum direction, the enemy regrouped its units, replenished reserves in order to increase offensive capabilities, and conducted aerial reconnaissance using the Orlan-10 UAV in order to clarify the positions of our troops.
In the Donetsk and Tavria directions, the enemy is fighting to restrict the actions of the Defense Forces units.
Over the past day, the enemy has intensified their hostilities. It is trying to reach the administrative borders of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. The enemy carried out regrouping, replenishment of losses, and increased air defense and material and technical support systems, presumably in order to intensify hostilities in the areas of the settlements of Severodonetsk and Lysychansk.
According to the General Staff, in the Lymanskyy direction, the forces of separate units from the 90th Tank Division tried to take full control of the village of Oleksandrivka, as well as with the support of artillery to gain a foothold in the northern outskirts of the village of Shandryholovo. The enemy had no success.
In the Severodonetsk direction, the enemy is trying to capture the village of Rubizhne but has no success.
In the Popasna direction, it is trying to take up positions in the settlement of Popasna and take control of a section of the Popasna – Bakhmut Highway.
The enemy conducts an offensive in the direction of the village of Novoselivka, has no success, and the fighting continues.
In the Kurakhove direction, it is trying to improve its tactical position in the direction of the settlement of Novomykhailivka, but it has no success.
In the Mariupol direction, the intensity of hostilities has been reduced.
In the Novopavlivske and Zaporizhia directions, the enemy has intensified aerial reconnaissance in the areas of the settlements of Orikhiv, Hulyai-pole, Komyshuvakha, Yasna Polyana.
In the Pivdennyi Big direction, the enemy forces up to 15 battalion tactical groups are trying to hold their positions. They do not conduct active military operations. The enemy fired mortars, barrel artillery, and multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of our troops' units. They carried out replenishment of their losses. The enemy used army air force near the village of Karyerne.
The administrative and police regime measures are being taken in the temporarily occupied territories. Thus, there is an increase in filtration measures by rosgvirdia units in the areas of the settlements of Heroyske, Hola Prystan, and Kherson.
The possibility of assault operations in certain areas by the enemy remains possible in order to improve their tactical situation, constrain our troops and prevent the transfer of reserves.
The moral and psychological state of the occupiers' personnel remains low, and alcohol consumption and desertion happen regularly. The personnel of enemy units complain about the ineffectiveness of their attacks on the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the Hulyai-Pole area.
