Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the President of the Storting of Norway Masud Gharahkhani, who is visiting our country today. This is reported by the press service of the head of state.

In particular, Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to the Norwegian society for supporting the people of Ukraine from the first day of the war and for the opportunity to speak in the Norwegian parliament.

Masud Gharahkhani replied that it is an honor for him to visit Ukraine and that Volodymyr Zelenskyy's speech at the Storting was historic.

“Today my country is just celebrating the day when we managed to regain our democracy and independence after World War II. Unfortunately, your country today is again going through aggression and violence,” the President of the Storting of Norway noted.

Masud Gharahkhani said that he was deeply shocked by the consequences of the russian occupation, which he saw in Irpin and Bucha in the Kyiv region.

“I want to confirm to you that Norway always stands by Ukraine,” he said.

It is reported that the leaders discussed strengthening the security of Norwegian support for Ukraine, further strengthening sanctions against russia, as well as the possibility of cooperation in the field of energy security.

“The president noted Norway's financial support and humanitarian aid for Ukraine, and invited them to join in the reconstruction of our country,” the press service stated.

Today the Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau, the President of the Bundestag Bärbel Bas, the Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenković and the first lady of the USA Jill Biden visited Ukraine.
