Berlin made a mistake by banning Ukrainian symbols at rallies on 8-9 May.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba wrote about this on Twitter.
"It is deeply wrong to treat them in the same way as russian symbols. Taking away the Ukrainian flag from peaceful protesters is an attack on all those who are now defending Europe and Germany from the russian aggression with the very same flag in their hands," he said.
Earlier, police in the federal state of Berlin in Germany banned activists from using Ukrainian flags and other Ukrainian symbols during commemorative events on 8 and 9 May.
Berlin police have also banned the use of flags of russia, the USSR, the “Luhansk People's Republic”, “Donetsk People's Republic”, Belarus, the display of V and Z letters, George's ribbons, and other symbols which mean support to russian aggression against Ukraine.
