The Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, has announced the preparation of new military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
It will include both financing and delivery of necessary equipment and weapons, writes Reuters. The list of what Ukraine will receive has been published on the Canadian government website.
The $50m aid package includes:
- 18 drone cameras, including service support and repair;
- $15m for high-resolution satellite imagery;
- up to $1m for small arms and ammunition;
- additional ammunition for M777 howitzers.
"Today, I am announcing more military aid, drones, satellite images, small arms, ammunition, and other support, including funding for demining operations," - Trudeau said at a briefing during a visit to Kyiv yesterday.

Canada will also provide funds for demining, support for human rights organizations, humanitarian aid, and other social initiatives.
Since February 2022, Canada has provided $245m in humanitarian and more than $131m in military assistance to Ukraine. The 2022 budget includes an additional $500m in further military aid to Ukrainians and a $1bn loan through the account of Ukraine managed by the International Monetary Fund.
After a meeting of 40 defense ministers at Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany in April, Canadian Defense Minister Anita Anand announced that Ukrainians would receive an unspecified number of 155-millimeter M777 howitzers, as well as thousands of Carl Gustav anti-tank grenade launchers, hand grenades and missile systems.
M777 - field trailed howitzer caliber 155 millimeters. Its range is 24-30 km. It has been manufactured since 2005 and is used by the United States, Great Britain, Canada, Australia, and Ukraine.
