The United States has announced a new package of sanctions against russia. These include restrictions on russian TV channels, export restrictions and sanctions against heads of russian financial institutions. It also bans Americans from providing accounting and consulting services to russians. This is stated on the website of the White House.
"The three russian television channels under US sanctions are Channel One, russia-1 and NTV," the Biden administration said. All three networks were among the largest recipients of foreign revenues returning to russian revenues.
At the same time, the United States will impose sanctions on eight representatives of Sberbank's management and another 27 from Gazprombank, as well as against the Moscow Industrial Bank and ten of its subsidiaries.
"This is not a complete block. We are not freezing Gazprombank's assets and we are not banning any transactions with Gazprombank," a senior official of the Biden Administration told reporters. We are signaling that Gazprombank is not a safe haven, so we are imposing sanctions on some of their top managers to create an effect," a senior CNN official said.
Eight executives of russia's Sberbank, which owns a third of russia's banking assets, have also been added to the sanctions list.
In addition, the United States will impose new export restrictions on russia, including the supply of industrial and raw materials, including wood products, industrial engines, boilers, engines, fans and ventilation equipment, bulldozers and many other industrial items.
"This new control will further limit russia's access to items and revenues that can support its military capabilities," is said on the White House website.
In addition to banning the export of Russian industrial services, the United States will also impose sanctions on Promtechnology Ltd., which produces weapons, including rifles used by russian troops in Ukraine. Also, against seven shipping companies that own or operate 69 vessels; and one maritime towing company. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will also suspend general licenses to export raw materials, special nuclear materials, by-products and deuterium to russia.
According to CNN, it is a ban on the export of uranium, plutonium or other products related to the nuclear sphere.
The United States will also ban American citizens and companies from providing audit, consulting and marketing services to russian firms.
