Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy talked to students of leading French universities at the Sciences Po Amphitheater.

This was reported by the Press Service of the President.

«In total, the event was attended by about 850 young people studying at the Sciences Po, L’Institut National du Service Public,L’Ecole Polytechnique, L’Inalco et de l’Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. They were present at the Sciences Po Amphitheater. A video broadcast was provided for representatives of 30 other universities and the press», the Press Service said

During his speech, Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine deserves to be a full member of the European Union, Ukrinform reports.

According to the President, our state can strengthen other EU countries, and the Ukrainian army has proved it.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukrainians are well-educated, intelligent people who speak several languages. "It seems to me that this is a fairly dignified society that deserves respect," the President added.

He stressed that Ukraine and the EU should have a mutual desire to unite.

«You can't keep Ukraine at a distance - take in the European Union and not take ... You can't be in such uncertainty all the time. It's as if the whole family is sitting at a table, someone has been invited, and you don't give them a chair. It seems to me that this is unfair», the Head of state said.

«Ukraine is an equal European state that respects the countries of the European Union and at the same time wants us to be respected in the same way. No more, but no less», Zelenskyy stressed.

According to the President, Ursula von der Leyen was impressed by the speed with which Ukrainian officials fulfilled the questionnaire on EU membership.

It has recently become known that the European Commission plans to comment on granting Ukraine the status of a candidate for EU membership in June.
