Due to increasing threats in the region, the Prime-Minister of Great Britain Boris Johnson signed mutual security pacts with leaders of Sweden and Finland. "European Pravda", with reference to Sky News, informs that the parties change their cooperation in the defence and security area. The signatories have pledged to increase intelligence exchange, to speed up joint military training, studies, and deployments, as well as to strengthen the security in their countries and in North Europe.

The guarantees will also allow Great Britain to cooperate with Northern partners and their armed forces in all areas, including cyberspace.

"We are steadfast and unequivocal in our support for Sweden and Finland, and signing of these security declarations is a symbol of the eternal insurance between the nations," Johnson said.

Earlier the Minister of Defence of Sweden Peter Hultqvist stated that Sweden and Finland joining NATO will strengthen the defence capabilities of the Northern region and enable joint defence planning within the alliance.

According to the Times, Finland and Sweden are ready to enter NATO in summer.
