It is already possible to import gas to Ukraine from LNG terminals in Greece, Croatia, Poland and Lithuania, confirmed Serhiy Makogon, CEO of the Gas TSO of Ukraine.

He noted that there is a significant transit of gas from Poland to Hungary through Ukraine's gas transportation system.

"More than 1 million m3 per day. Ukraine is becoming an important transport gas hub for Eastern and Southern Europe countries," Makogon said.

Last year the GTSOU doubled the guaranteed capacity to Ukraine, which currently stands at 54 million m3 per day. For the first time, guaranteed imported capacity was created from Hungary (8 million per day) and Poland (4 million per day), and capacity from Slovakia was increased (up to 42 million per day from 27 million) ".

The German Minister of Economy declared earlier that Germany could weather a stop to supply of the russian gas.

Estonia and Finland have agreed on mutual assistance in case of gas supply problems. Estonia has a similar agreement with Latvia.
