As the russian occupiers suffer significant losses in manpower and equipment, they join forces with representatives of russian private military companies for further action as part of the combined units.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The command says that in some areas the staffing of enemy units, according to the results of hostilities, is less than 20 percent. For example, such a situation is observed in the Popasna direction. It is here that air troops of the occupying forces merge with private military companies.
Meanwhile, almost 2,500 reservists are being trained at landfills in the Voronezh, Belgorod, and Rostov regions of the russian Federation. They plan to send them to the territory of Ukraine to take part in the war.
And in the Kharkiv direction, russia uses units that were formed during the mobilization in the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
The situation in other areas as of 18.00 on May 15 is as follows:
- the aggressor country continues to try to establish full control over the territory of the Donetsk, Luhansk, and Kherson regions and keep the land corridor with the temporarily occupied Crimea.
- in the Volyn and Polissya areas, the enemy did not take active action. Belarusian troops continue to cover the Ukrainian-Belarusian border.
- in the northern direction, the occupiers continue to strengthen the protection of the Ukrainian-russian border in the Kursk and Belgorod regions. The russian Federation fired on Ukrainian territories and launched missile airstrikes on civilian infrastructure in the areas of the settlements of Shipylivka and Shevchenkove, Sumy region.
- in the Kharkiv direction, the invaders systematically fired on the settlements of Ruski Tyshky, Ternova, and Petrivka. The occupiers tried unsuccessfully to conduct offensive and assault operations in the areas of Dovgenke and Bogorodychne.
- in the Donetsk direction, the enemy is carrying out intense shelling along the line of contact and trying to gain a foothold in the occupied positions, as well as replenishing stocks of ammunition and fuel and lubricants.
- in the Severodonetsk direction, the russian Army, with the support of artillery, fought in the area of the village of Toshkivka. And in the area of Borivsky, the occupiers suffered losses and retreated.
- fighting continues in the Bakhmut direction in the Komyshuvakha area.
- in the Avdiivka direction, the russians suffered losses in the area of the settlements of Pisky and Novokalinovo. In some areas, the enemy used heavy flamethrowers.
- in the Kurakhiv direction, the invaders conducted assault and offensive operations, using artillery support, and were unsuccessful.
- in Mariupol, the invaders inflict massive artillery and air strikes on Azovstal and continue to blockade Ukrainian units.
- In the Novopavlovsk and Zaporizhzhia directions, the russian Army tried to fire at our troops with rocket-propelled grenade launchers, artillery, and mortars. There were attempts to fight the counter-battery.
- in the South Bug direction, the occupiers did not conduct active hostilities.
- in the Kryvyi Rih and Mykolayiv directions, the enemy fired at Ukrainian units with artillery and mortars. The invaders are also continuing to build the engineering equipment for the occupied positions.
We are reminding, that according to the commander of 12NGU of the Guard of Ukraine Denis Shlega, now there are about 600 wounded Ukrainian military men in Azovstal, 40 of them - in a very serious condition.
According to the South Operational Command, the russians continue to destroy schools and houses in the Kherson region.
