Among people who left Ukraine at the beginning of the war, more than half (51.5%) were residents of the East and South of the country, and 45% were residents of the central regions.
These statistics are reported in a poll conducted by the Razumkov Center from 11 April to 6 May.
Among those who return, the vast majority (69%) are residents of the central regions - Kyiv (35%) and the Kyiv region (17%). Another 12% of returnees are residents of the East, 9% of the South, and 10.5% of the West.
After returning, 73% of respondents plan to settle in the area where they lived before the war. The other 26% of respondents expressed a wish to move to another region. These are mostly residents of eastern Ukraine. They would like to settle in the western regions (15%), Kyiv, or the Kyiv region.
