Rocket fire in Lviv, Sumy, Chernihiv, airstrikes in the Luhansk region, and sabotage activity in the border areas of Ukraine is a russian army's attempt to compensate for a series of failures in eastern and southern Ukraine, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his address.

Russia cannot demonstrate military success in the directions where it is trying to advance, so it is trying to show success through its missiles and other activities.

"These strikes, like many previous ones, do not radically change anything. Moreover, our air defense and anti-sabotage measures are becoming stronger," Zelenskyy said.

He said he had a productive conversation with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz about Ukraine's defense support and our cooperation at the EU level.

Zelenskyy also had a talk with French President Emmanuel Macron on the sixth package of sanctions being prepared by the European Union. They discussed peace talks process with russia, the evacuation of our heroes from Azovstal, steps towards European integration and consideration of Ukraine's application for EU candidate status.
