Russian troops are shelling Severodonetsk heavily, which is the administrative center of the Ukrainian-controlled Luhansk region.

Oleksandr Struk, head of the Civil-Military Administration of Severodonetsk, spoke about the situation in the city as of May 20.

According to him, up to 15,000 people remain in bomb shelters.

To provide people with water, wells in old districts of the city were reactivated and the population was supplied with solar-powered lanterns.

The head of the administration reported that all cell phone towers in Severodonetsk were disabled. 70% of high-rise buildings are destroyed or damaged, many of them will have to be demolished and new ones built.

As reported, in the past 24 hours alone, russian shelling in Severodonetsk killed 12 people.
