The Allied Forces continue their defense in the Donetsk and Luhansk areas. Along the entire line of contact, the enemy is using combat aircraft, large-caliber artillery, tanks, mortars, missiles and bombs to destroy civilian infrastructure and peaceful residential areas, the JFO headquarters reported on its Facebook page.
On May 21, the russians fired on more than 40 settlements in Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts, destroying and damaging more than 30 civilian objects. In particular, 13 residential buildings, 4 factories, a research and production institution, a foreign language institute, a railway station, a music school, two fire and rescue units, a gas pipeline section, a high-voltage power line, a cemetery and a number of utility and storage facilities. As a result of these shellings, at least 7 civilians were killed and seven others were injured in the Donetsk region. Data on the Luhansk region are specified.
"Ukrainian defenders of the Allied Forces repulsed 9 enemy attacks today. Fighting with the occupier is still underway at 4 more locations," the headquarters said.
To date, Allied forces have destroyed:
- 5 tanks
- 4 artillery systems
- 10 units of combat armored vehicles
- 2 enemy cars.
Air defense units shot down one Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicle in the sky of the Ukrainian Donbass. Ukrainian servicemen continue to bravely and heroically restrain the invasion of the russian occupiers.
According to the General Staff, russia continues to be most active in the Eastern Operational Zone. Russia continues to prepare for the offensive in the Sloviansk and Lyman directions.
