In total, since 24 February, the russian army has launched 1,474 missile strikes on Ukraine, using 2,275 different missiles. The vast majority - on civilian objects.

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced this in his address.

He noted, that the moving of the blockages in Desna in Chernihiv region has been completed. 87 people were killed by four missiles.

Zelensky added that in less than three months there have been more than 3,000 air strikes by russian planes and helicopters.

“Every time we tell our partners that we need modern anti-missile weapons, modern combat aircraft, we are not just making a formal request. We say that our request is the real lives of many people who would not have died if we had received all the weapons we are seeking.” - the President of Ukraine emphasized.

He clarified that today, talking to the participants of the Davos Forum, he spoke in particular about the need to provide Ukraine with everything necessary to save the lives of our people.

Zelensky said that the worst fighting situation in the Donbas today. Bakhmut, Popasna, Severodonetsk - in this direction the occupiers have concentrated the most activity so far. They set up a massacre there and are trying to destroy all living things. Nobody ever destroyed Donbas as the russian military does now.

Today in Kyiv, in the Mariinsky Palace, in the White Hall of Heroes of Ukraine, Zelensky presented the Golden Star orders to soldiers, as well as to the relatives of those of our Heroes who were posthumously awarded this award.

In particular, the sister of sailor Vitaly Skakun. He was a sapper of the 137th Separate Marine Battalion of the 35th Separate Marine Brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Ostrogradsky. He died while performing a combat mission in southern Ukraine. Thanks to his courage and heroism, we managed to significantly delay the onslaught of the enemy forces that prevailed and save hundreds of lives of our soldiers.

“In this war - both on 24 February and in 2014 - the Marines proved to be extremely brave. They were among those units that heroically defended Mariupol. They took part in many important battles. And today, on the Day of the Marines, I express my sincere gratitude to all those who defend the state in these troops,” Zelensky stressed.

He added that the coming weeks of the war will be difficult, and we must be aware of that. But we have no alternative but to fight and win. To liberate our land and our people, because the occupiers want to take away from us not just something, but everything we have. Including the right to life for Ukrainians.

To win, the president said, we must work for this, including those in the rear.

In the evening, Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree awarding 161 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with state awards, 42 of them posthumously.

As previously reported, Volodymyr Zelensky took part in an online format at the World Economic Forum in Davos, and said that after winning the war with Russia, Ukraine will become a strong and secure state, get rid of corruption and the influence of oligarchs. He also noted that there would be no full-scale war if the world listened to Ukraine and applied preventive sanctions.
