The Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak has announced the creation of an international advisory group that will develop proposals on security guarantees for Ukraine. He will lead this group together with former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen.
Yermak said this while speaking at the Securing Europe panel within the framework of the World Economic Forum in Davos, the OP website reports.
"Today, I am pleased to announce that, together with former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, we are setting up an international advisory working group. Its aim is to develop recommendations for reliable and effective security guarantees for Ukraine. Leading figures in security, politics and diplomacy, as well as academics, will be invited to join the group," said the Head of the OP.
He expressed confidence that the friends of Ukraine will take part in the work of the advisory group and will be able to offer their knowledge and experience for the effective implementation of this initiative.
"Our goal is to avoid repeating the mistakes of the past, preparing the future for a sovereign and free Ukraine," Yermak said.
Andriy Yermak announced today that the European Union had approved the fourth tranche of military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 500m. euros.
