The Economic Security Bureau will exchange information with the appropriate authorities of Lithuania and Latvia
Vadym Melnyk, Director of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine, Antoni Mikulskis, Director of the Financial Crimes Investigation Service at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, Edita Janusiene, Head of the State Tax Inspectorate at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania, and Eva Jaunzeme, Director General of the State Revenue Service of Latvian Republic, signed a Memorandum in the field of economic security.

The meeting took place on May 23, 2022 in Vilnius. The participants of the tripartite meeting discussed issues of cooperation in combating economic crimes in the taxes and customs, combating financial fraud, economic cybercrime, money laundering.
In the Memoranda, the representatives of Ukraine, Lithuania and Latvia agreed the participation, in compliance with international and national law, in joint investigations, special operations aimed at protecting the economic interests of each country. They also declared their intentions to exchange information, experience, provide consultations, and provide mutual support during the processing of requests.
During the trip to Vilnius, Mr. Melnyk also visited the Customs Department at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania. Potential directions of the strategic partnership were discussed at the meeting with Mr. Darius Zvironas, Director General.
The representatives of Lithuania and Latvia approved a special training program for Bureau analysts.

So far we have initiated and are waiting for answers from the competent authorities on 44 draft memoranda of strategic partnership and cooperation. Recently, the ESB and the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia signed a similar document. for cooperation. Now we begin cooperating with Lithuania and Latvia. To remind, in November last year, the Government issued a resolution "On the Economic Security Bureau", which actually started its activity.
