President Volodymyr Zelenskiy negotiated with Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer.
This was announced by the head of state in his Twitter.
The parties discussed the situation on the front and the prospects of Ukraine's membership in the EU.
"He thanked Austria for its humanitarian aid, as well as for its readiness to accept Ukrainian citizens for treatment and medical rehabilitation," Zelenskiy said.
Earlier in May, the Austrian Minister for EU Affairs and Constitutional Affairs Carolyn Edtstadler stated that Ukraine's accession to the EU could not be achieved "in the next five to ten years."
Austria has also expressed readiness to impose an embargo on russian oil.
