In his video address, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stated that Ukraine is approaching the moment when our army will outnumber the russian occupiers "technologically and by force."

"Of course, a lot depends on our partners; on their readiness to provide Ukraine with everything necessary to protect freedom. And I expect good news about this next week," - said the Head of State.

Zelenskyy also said that on 30-31 May 2022, he will speak at the European Council meeting on russia's terror against Ukraine and Europe.

Bloomberg writes that the European Commission has reached a compromise with Hungary regarding an oil embargo: it is suggested to keep oil imports delivered through the pipeline but to refuse those provided by the sea. The details of the reviewed proposal, which the European Commission sent to EU member states' governments, are in our news.

The Head of the Kyiv Region Military Administration, Oleksiy Kuleba, and the Head of the Region Police Department, Andriy Niebytov, visited the region's border areas.

"We want to assure you that there is no [military] activity at the Belarusian border," - said Kuleba.

The situation is critical in the country's east; the enemies are advancing in the Donetsk area and trying to gain a foothold in the Lyman area.

The morning report of the General Staff of the UAF (Armed Forces of Ukraine) informed that the battles for Sievierodonetsk continue.

The Head of the Luhansk RMA (Region Military Administration), Serhiy Haidai, reported that on 28 May 2022, a russian airstrike destroyed the "Druzhba" cinema in Lysychansk. The airstrike also damaged 22 houses; in particular, one of the shells hit a multi-story building. The young girl died immediately, and four more people were hospitalized.

The russians fired rounds at Mykolaiv and tried to get out of the water the sank boat "Raptor," going to patch up their fleet with those "that went down."

Operative command "South" reported on Facebook that "the russians shelled Mykolaiv using self-propelled multiple rocket launcher systems "Uragan." The ammunition exploded in the front yards of the residential buildings. The shelling damaged eight houses. One person died immediately, and seven more received injuries of different degrees. Kryvyi Rih also was a target for a missile strike.

The air defense system was on in the Kyiv region in the evening. The situation in Chornobaivka is critical due to the shelling. Nevertheless, the night was relatively peaceful in Volyn, Zakarpattia, Rivne, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhia, Ternopil, Lviv, Khmelnytsky, Kirovohrad, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy regions.

The General Staff of the UAF also reports that over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian defenders have eliminated approximately 150 russian occupiers. The checkpoint of 30,000 was crossed - the total personnel losses of the enemy from 24 February to 29 May 2022 amounted to 30,150 people.

"The greatest losses of the enemy (last day) were observed in the Bakhmut area," - reported the General Staff.

The mayor of the temporarily occupied Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov, urged the residents not to take russian pseudo-passports, which neither Ukraine nor other democratic counties will recognize.

Fedorov infrmed that the main reason for russians to distribute the passports is that they want to mobilize Melitopol residents by force.

"Public sector employees cannot cooperate with the occupiers. The Ukrainian government will continue to pay salaries to public sector employees. The employees of other enterprises can work without the consequences of criminal liability for collaboration… Melitopol State Pedagogics University, n.a. B. Khmelnytskyi and Tavria State Agrotechnological University n.a. Dmytro Motornyi remain Ukrainian; they are re-registered in Zaporizhzhia,"- said the mayor of Melitopol.

Thanks to the "Ukrainian Bookshelf" project, the stands with Ukrainian books have appeared in the largest libraries in Austria, Latvia, France, and the Netherlands.

We hope that there will be more and more good news.
