The occupiers began to export metal products from Mariupol. To do this, they demined part of the seaport.

With the first ship from Mariupol to Rostov-on-Don russians sent 3,000 tons of metal, said on Facebook Ombudsman Lyudmila Denisova.

"In addition, to make it easier to take the loot, the invaders began to restore railways in Mariupol and Volnovakha. Before the occupation, up to 200,000 tons of metal and cast iron worth $170 million were in the port," she said.

Denisova stressed that the occupier violated the IV Geneva Convention of 1949 on the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War and Article 8 of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. She appealed to the UN Commission of Inquiry into Human Rights Violations during russia's military invasion of Ukraine to take into account these facts of war crimes and violations.

It will be recalled that last week the director of the port of Mariupol warned that the russians were preparing to steal metal. As of February 23, the port had about 200,000 tons of metal and cast iron with a total value of $170 million. Grain was 3.4 thousand tons in warehouses and another 9,000 tons on ships under foreign flags.
