President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the GLOBSEC International Security Forum in Bratislava, Slovakia.
Zelenskyy emphasized the crimes committed by the russian army on the territory of Ukraine and addressed the international community to unite around Ukraine and fight the aggressor state.
The Head of State raised the issue of the blockade of Ukrainian ports, which is pushing the world into a food crisis.
"The food crisis will inevitably lead to large-scale protests in European countries. Many governments will have to explain to protesters on the streets of various European cities why our continent has been taken hostage by one state - russia - and one man in Moscow - who ordered the naval blockade of Ukraine," - emphasized Zelenskyy.
He said that russia "sees only its own (interests - Ed.), And treats them quite specifically." The President called russia's current policy anti-European, so in his opinion, "the reaction of Europe should be revolutionary."
"First, [Europe needs] to support Ukraine even more actively. With weapons, finances, and politics. We are grateful for the help we have already received. We are grateful to every man and every woman who helps us. But the weapons supplies must be increased because it will be decided on the Ukrainian battlefield whether the freedom in Europe for all peoples without exception survives. And right now, the situation on the Ukrainian battlefield could provide a turning point in the confrontation. Right now, when russia is losing the war against Ukraine, the freedom of Europeans will win for decades to come," - emphasized Zelenskyy.
He said it is necessary to strengthen sanctions against the aggressor state. "The main purpose of the European Union's sanctions packages is not just to harm russia, but to make Europe independent of russia, to sever all critical ties between russia and European countries that Moscow uses as a weapon, including energy," - added Zelenskyy.
The Head of State noted that he considered it "unacceptable when so much time is spent on discussing the sanctions packages, including the sixth package."
"These are all our people, and these are all our days. More than a month!" - emphasized the President.
Zelenskyy also reminded the forum participants about the importance of Ukraine's accession to the EU.
