A russian rocket flew over the South Ukrainian nuclear power plant this morning, the national atomic energy company Energoatom has said.
"On 26 June, the ruscists resorted to nuclear terrorism again. At 6 a.m. the rocket flew critically low above the South Ukrainian NPP. Its fly-by was caught on camera. This rocket was flying from the south to the north of Ukraine," it said.
Energoatom suggested the rocket was aimed at Kyiv, which was rocked by explosions this morning.
"Once again we draw the attention of the international community to the facts of Russia's thoughtless actions. It continues to endanger the security not only of Ukraine but also of the whole of Europe. After all, any damage to an operating power unit would have very serious consequences and could threaten the world with a terrible nuclear catastrophe!" the company said.
This is not the first time Russian missiles have flown over the South Ukrainian nuclear power plant. On the morning of 5 June at around 5:30, a Russian cruise missile, similar to a Kalibr missile, flew critically low over the plant.
Several explosions shook Kyiv's Shevchenkivskyy district this morning. A seven-year-old girl was recovered from under the rubble of an apartment building hit by a Russian missile. She is alive.
A total of five people were injured as a result of the shelling of the house. Earlier Anton Herashchenko, an aide to the interior minister, said that one person died as a result of the Russian missile attack.
