International Legion for Defence of Ukraine denies russian fakes

Russia is spreading fake news about heavy losses in the ranks of the International Legion, especially among the international media, Damien Magrou, Spokesperson for the International Legion for the Defence of Ukraine, has said at a briefing.

He noted that russian propagandists recently started claiming that their troops had killed 200 combatants.

"This is not true. For example, in the cases when they bombed Yavoriv [Lviv Region], an international security centre in March, we heard the russian Defence Ministry claim that they had also killed 200 combatants. Then it was proved that this was absolutely not true. Now there is another such example," Magrou said.

He noted that the Russian propaganda is making constant attempts to spread false, distorted information to the international media.

Therefore, the International Legion spokesman urged journalists check information with the military before publishing it, even if they quote the russian Defence Ministry.

Earlier, the International Legion honoured the memory of four fallen fighters in the war against Russia. These were citizens of Germany, the Netherlands, Australia and France.
