More than 21,000 people have already been evacuated from the Ukrainian territories temporarily occupied by Russia, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk has said.
According to her, almost every third evacuated person is a child.
Ukrainians have been evacuated from the non-government-controlled territories of Kherson, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhya, Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as well as Crimea.
"In particular, more than 8,000 citizens have been evacuated from Kherson Region and more than 9,000 from Zaporizhzhya Region," Vereshchuk added.
According to the Ministry of Reintegration, over 7,000 Ukrainians have been evacuated from Donetsk Region alone since the beginning of August, of which 1,500 are children.
