Ukraine will continue to receive financial assistance from partners. Thus, this year the country expects to receive $2.8 billion from the International Monetary Fund and $500 million from the UK for the purchase of gas, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has said at a government meeting.
He noted that the IMF and the World Bank had assured Ukraine of their support.
"We had very important conversations with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva and World Bank managers Mr Trottenburg and Ms. Bjerde. In fact, these are the two largest international financial organizations. And we have assurances that they will continue to support Ukraine," he said.
He added the IMF mission should start its work in Ukraine in October.
The International Monetary Fund has recently allocated $1.4 billion of additional support to Ukraine.
Earlier, Shmyhal said that by the end of the year Ukraine plans to receive another $12-16 billion from partners.
