The European Council has approved the allocation of macro-financial assistance to Ukraine of €5 billion.

The decision was made today, 20 September, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said on Twitter.

"I thank the EU member states for their unity in supporting Ukraine. Each of your votes is a significant contribution to our common victory. The package of EUR 9 billion before the end of the year is the key to this," he wrote.
