A mission of the International Monetary Fund will start working on a new special programme for Ukraine in October, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has said.
He noted that he had met IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva today to discuss the work of the mission.
Shmyhal and Georgieva also outlined the next steps of bilateral cooperation.
"I thanked the Fund and Ms Georgieva personally for their quick response to the challenges that Ukraine has faced due to Russian aggression and for providing $1.4 billion in assistance. I have been assured that the IMF remains a steadfast partner of Ukraine," Shmyhal said.
The IMF recently appointed a new head of its mission to Ukraine. Gavin Gray will replace Ivanna Vladkova Hollar as head of the IMF mission as of 20 September.
