French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna arrived in Kyiv on an official visit - her Twitter account states.
"Good morning, Ukraine, it's good to be back in Kyiv. France is here to support Ukraine," Colonna wrote.
Colonna headed the French Foreign Ministry on 20 May this year. The visit to Kyiv was her first foreign trip not to a EU country in the new position.
On 26 May, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba held the first telephone conversation with his new French counterpart. Mrs. Minister confirmed the continuation of support. The parties agreed on the need to increase sanctions pressure on russia, including the oil embargo. They also discussed the EU candidate status for Ukraine.
During the conversation, Kuleba invited his colleague to Ukraine.
Later Colonna visited Kyiv again in June.
