Ukrainian servicemen have completely cleared the town of Lyman in Donetsk Region from Russian troops, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said in a video address.
"As of 12.30, Lyman has been completely cleared. Thanks to our military, our warriors, glory to Ukraine!" Zelenskyy said.
Ukrainian troops entered Lyman on 1 October.
British intelligence has confirmed the strategic, political and tactical importance of Lyman whose recapture allows the Ukrainian army to regain control over the main transport routes across the Siverskyy Donets River.
