On the evening of 8 October, Ukrainian Ambassador to Minsk Ihor Kyzym was summoned to the Belarusian Foreign Ministry. He was handed a diplomatic note, which stated that Ukraine was allegedly planning a strike on the territory of Belarus.
This information is not true, Ukraine categorically rejects the latest insinuations of the Belarusian regime, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleh Nikolenko has said on Facebook.
"We do not rule out that the delivery of a diplomatic note may be part of the Russian Federation's plan to provoke and further accuse Ukraine. We urge the Belarusian people not to succumb to provocations. Ukraine has never encroached on foreign territories. We strictly adhere to the fundamental norms and principles of international law and the UN Charter," Nikolenko pointed out.
He added that the authorities in Belarus should stop fulfilling the Kremlin's whims and immediately stop supporting Russia in its aggression against Ukraine.
It should be reminded that Alexander Lukashenko has repeatedly stated that Ukraine is "preparing a strike" on Belarus, thus justifying its assistance to the Russian army in the invasion. On 6 October, air strikes were launched from the territory of Belarus against Ukraine - for the first time since the end of August.
