Spain wants to allocate four Hawk air defence systems to Ukraine, Yevropeyska Pravda has reported.
According to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, allies in the alliance are providing Ukraine with advanced systems, including artillery, air defence and armoured vehicles.
"I welcome today's announcement by Spain on the allocation of four Hawk missile launchers to bolster Ukraine's air defences, in addition to what the allies have provided in recent days. I thank the allies for their significant contributions and call on them to further strengthen their support," Stoltenberg said at a briefing after the meeting of Allied Defence Ministers.
He added that Ukraine will also receive anti-drone equipment from NATO to protect it against Russian attacks on civilian infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Spanish Defence Minister Margarita Robles offered Ukraine various opportunities for training the military. These include both the bilateral format and the EU mission, which is being launched. Ukrainian soldiers were to be trained in Zaragoza on Aspide anti-aircraft missile systems.
The UK will provide Ukraine with missiles for NASAMS systems that can shoot down enemy cruise missiles.
And Germany provided 16 self-propelled artillery systems Zuzana.
