About 9,000 Russian servicemen will arrive in Belarus as part of the deployment of a joint group of troops, the head of the Department of International Military Cooperation of the Belarusian Defence Ministry, Valery Ravenka has said, Interfax-Ukraine reported.

According to him, the first echelons with Russian servicemen began to arrive in Belarus.

"The relocation will take several days. The total number will be slightly less than 9,000 people," he said.

More detailed information, according to Ravenka, will be provided at a briefing for military attaches on Monday, 17 October.
