At 12:05 today Russia attacked Ukraine from the north-eastern direction with strategic aviation. Six cruise missiles Kh-101/Kh-555 were fired from bombers - Tu-95 and Tu-160, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has said.
"One missile was destroyed by fighter aircraft, one by an anti-aircraft missile unit in the area of responsibility of the Air Command Centre in Kyiv and Vinnytsya regions," it said.
Two more missiles were shot down by the air defence of the Ground Troops in Chernihiv Region.
"Simultaneously with the missile attack, the occupiers attacked Ukraine with Shahed-136 kamikaze drones from the north, in particular from the territory of Belarus. As of 15:30, 10 barrage munitions were destroyed by the air defence of the Air Force of the Air Command Centre," it specified.
