The counteroffensive of the Ukrainian Defence Forces in Luhansk Region has slowed down somewhat due to rains, but the soldiers are moving forward, the head of the Luhansk regional military administration, Serhiy Hayday, has said on Telegram.

"We are hampered a bit by the weather, because it is raining now on the border of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and this slows down the offensive, because the equipment is stuck, but still, I hope that in the near future we will receive good news from the General Staff," he said.

He noted that Russians are building defensive structures in their own Belgorod Region. Obviously, they are preparing to leave the occupied territories and "regroup".

"We clearly understand that the plans they (the occupiers - ed.) set for themselves have completely failed," Hayday said.

He stressed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are "facing a huge amount" of weapons, equipment and personnel.
